Lab Craft's 'Digital adventures in the world of Craft' has just ended its exhibition tour at
Oriel Myrddin Gallery.
This is a collaborative piece called 'woven wood' by product designer
Gary Allson and textile artist
Ismini Samanidou. 'Woven wood' explores how digital making methods can be used to translate magnified textile weave structures into timber creating a recognisable textile structure and pattern in the surface of the wood.
It was a very interesting exhibition showing innovative works that are exploring digital media within craft and design and embracing the possibilities of cutting edge technology.
