London Green Wood

Yesterday I was exploring Abney Gardens, one of seven cemetery gardens of London, aa amazingly wild space full of stunning decay and amazing headstones and memorial sculptures. Tucked away at one of the gates, I heard familiar sounds of hand woodworking and found people enjoying a day of making, London Green Wood opens this sanctuary on Thursdays for people who have completed the introductory course to come and create from timber gleaned from the cemetery whatever they would like. It is a welcoming space full of people skilled and enthusiastic about green wood craft, they offer regular courses in turning and whitling.
