Snickeriet

This is a cupboard made from acrylic glass and Swedish maple is truly honest in its display of construction techniques. The fittings, fasteners, the joinery of materials and even the mechanism of the locking bolt are all made visible.as well as being revealing as to the contents of the cupboard. I think it would actually be a great design for kitchen cupboards. It is made by Snickeriet, designed by Karl-Johan Hjerling and Karin Wallenbeck.

A storm in a cupboard

Havet is a series of pine cupboards whose surfaces have been treated to resemble night storms in the ocean. Designed by Karl-Johan Hjerling and Karin Wallenbeck for Snickeriet. The surfaces are chiseled by hand across all surfaces and joints and then stained and lacquered.
