Riva 1920
'The Earth Table' is made from prehistoric Kauri wood set in resin. The table is made by Italian furniture maker Riva 1920. Kauri (Agathis Australis) is a type of conifer that grows only in Sub-tropical New Zealand. They are the worlds biggest tree in terms of trunk volume and grow to a height of 70 meters. Most of them were felled by English Colonists, the remainder are under government and legal protection.

Samuel Reis
Samuel Reis's pine collection uses the form and component elements of the pine tree, taking advantage of the natural curve of the trunks and the needles. The curved forms offer great strength and performance due to the integrity of the fibre. Samuel Reis graduated in product design last summer from ESAD. Thank you

James McNabb I
"The City Series is a collection of wood sculptures that represent a woodworker's journey from the suburbs to the city. Each piece depicts the outsider's perspective of the urban landscape. Made entirely of scrap wood, this work is an interpretation of making something out of nothing. Each piece is cut intuitively on a bandsaw. The result is a collection of architectural forms, each distinctly different from the next." James McNabb
James McNabb is a Philadelphia based craftsman who has moved from furniture into sculpture, creating fantastic metropolis from scraps of wood.

Stone Designs
A low level dinning experience designed for the Japanese market by Stone Designs of Madrid. Stone Designs is the studio of Cutu Mazuelos and Eva Prego established in 1995
"The Stick collection meets the Japanese brand Actus’ need of providing the Japanese market with a table that allows people to have meetings, eat and have fun around it, but the difference with this table is that it has lower proportions as usual. The Stick collection was born from this idea of having a space to share and relax. On it we have used a walking stick as an archetype to support the whole table. Due to the reduce height, it could easily look too heavy and that is why all dimensions have been calculated very carefully. As a result we get a light table with natural finishes that inspires and invites to sit down around it, and share a dinner or the best summer anecdote." Stone Designs

Gonçalo Campos
A coffee table that acknowledges that it may have different users and store different activities. Strangely I found this whilst thinking of a desk that like a computer desktop could have different layers of interface again, storing different projects/ activities. This table is by Portuguese product designer Gonçalo Campos.
