Contemporary Scottish Furniture Design Exhibition

Unstable Stool by Angus Ross
This exhibition at The Dovecot, Edinburgh opened this evening, it is a fantastic exhibition and the opening was busy bustling and exciting. The visitors were treated to the work of 26 of Scotland's leading furniture makers, to witness the love, care and skill of fine craftsmanship, to experience the joy of objects made with passion out of wonderful materials. The exhibition runs from now until the 16th October I cannot recommend it highly enough, if you can, please take the time and see this wonderful gathering of Scottish furniture designers. Over the next few days I will be featuring some of the fantastic work you can see there.
"Scottish design and craftsmanship has a well-earned reputation for quality all over the world.
Having seen for myself some of the work of members of the Scottish Furniture Makers Association, I can understand why. This exhibition will not only showcase Scottish ingenuity and skill, but demonstrate how this industry has taken centuries-old trades and made them cutting-edge expressions of twenty-first century drive. I wish them all the very best"
Alex Salmond, First Minister
