Mth Woodworks

Resin and wood combinations from the Bloom Collection by Mth Woodworks  which was established in 2010 by Michael Thomas Host.
The smooth white resin contrasting and amplifying the beauty of the natural timber used, each piece is unique, celebrating the unique qualities of the wood used.
'Since the inception of mth woodworks in 2010, Michael has managed to encapsulate the essence of raw material and create an environment where the history of such is showcased in his stunning bloom collection. In both residential and commercial applications, the furniture/art he creates brings a physical sense of history into the home by showcasing the annual growth rings of our trees. These techniques have created a refreshed sense of timeline and offer clients the ability to put natural history on display - creating conversation, community and keeping a focus on ecological sustainability.' Matthias Borowski

Just love these delicious looking stools ' Nougat' from Matthias Borowski using wood and resin. Matthias graduated from The Design Academy Eindhoven in 2013 and formed  Kollektiv Plus Zwei with Stefanie
Högl
Matthias used Gault & Millau’s “Ten Commandments of Nouvelle Cuisine” as the foundation of his ethos for this project:
Every material stimulates the senses.
The material must be identifiable in the object with its sensory components.
There is always a better material.
All materials can be combined with each other.
Natural or artificial – we don’t care!
Ask the material what it wants to be!
There is no right and wrong – Just do it!
Every production process transforms the character of the material.
The starting point for an object is the material – NOT the other way round!
The cost of the material does not reflect the value of the material.

Samuel Reis

Samuel Reis's pine collection uses the form and component elements of the pine tree, taking advantage of the natural curve of the trunks and the needles. The curved forms offer great strength and performance due to the integrity of the fibre. Samuel Reis graduated in product design last summer from ESAD. Thank you

James McNabb I

"The City Series is a collection of wood sculptures that represent a woodworker's journey from the suburbs to the city. Each piece depicts the outsider's perspective of the urban landscape. Made entirely of scrap wood, this work is an interpretation of making something out of nothing. Each piece is cut intuitively on a bandsaw. The result is a collection of architectural forms, each distinctly different from the next." James McNabb

James McNabb is a Philadelphia based craftsman who has moved from furniture into sculpture, creating fantastic metropolis from scraps of wood.
