Candice Lawrence

Candice Lawrence is a young South African designer who has founded Modern Gesture in Cape Town. Modern Gesture designs bespoke and conceptual furniture, home wear and lighting products.

"I’ve always had a soft spot for wood. The material offers the unexpected, which is like a metaphor for life. John believes strongly in a sustainable business model: tree planting is funded from products sold and in time more wood will be replaced than used.
