StilNovo are a California based company who make furniture using recycled French oak wine barrels.
" The chemical properties of oak itself play a significant role in
winemaking, affecting the colour, flavor, and texture of the wine; over
time many of the oak properties get "leached" out of the barrel
and after 3 to 5 vintages the barrel is ready to be discarded. That's
when we rescue, recycle and transform them. The natural arch of a barrel
stave confers striking finesse to the silhouette of each of our designs.
The barrel's metal hoop is integrated whenever possible."
