Jonny Smith

Jonny Smith is one of the furniture lecturers:

"My wife is pregnant and wanted a wee baby chair. One of my students was having problems with a contemporary Windsor style chair construction so that’s how the design came to be, in solving the students design issues.
The seat is a lesser known 'Laburnum' timber, locally grown, gouged out by a wood grinder and sanding. The spindles are all Burr Elm crafted on the lathe. A reasonably simple design made up by the beauty of the grains. Plus frustratingly tricky angles to work with though."
